OUR FACILITY

 

HCA is located at 126 James Street South in downtown Hamilton, where we run over 100 arts programs for students of every age and skill level — music, dance, visual arts, and acting, all under one roof.

 

Inside, you'll find 18 music rooms, a full visual arts studio, three dance studios, a Black Box Theatre, an attic atelier, and a gallery space.

It was built in 1897 as the Royal College of Music and was designed from the ground up for teaching and performance. Over 120 years later, we're still carrying that tradition on in the same building, in the same neighbourhood.

– Fifteen music practice rooms, each with a regularly tuned stand-up or baby grand piano
– A Yamaha Group Keyboard Studio
– A large visual arts studio
– Three large, multi-purpose dance studios

– A rooftop patio overlooking downtown Hamilton and the escarpment
– A 7-foot Yamaha concert piano
– An accessibility ramp at the back of the building
– Four gender-neutral washrooms
