CLASS DESCRIPTION

Art Exploration I

In Art Exploration I, young artists will develop artistic skills while exploring their creative instincts in diverse mediums and styles. Taking inspiration from still life, photographs, books, and art history, they will learn drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and other mixed media fundamentals.

Students will be encouraged to complete individual and group original pieces in a supportive atmosphere that is both fun and rewarding. They will build a personal portfolio of their works as well as display their favourite pieces in a final term exhibition, VASE (Visual Arts Student Exhibition), in the HCA Gallery.

INSTRUCTOR

Kamaldeep Kaur

Kamaldeep Kaur is a Canadian visual artist whose work combines gouache, natural pigments, and mixed media with influences from Indian miniature painting. With over ten years of studio practice and five years of teaching experience, she is passionate about exploring identity, culture, and creativity through art.
