CLASS DESCRIPTION

Senior Contemporary delves into more interpretive and technically demanding movements, focusing on levels, weight, suspension, fall, and release energies. Embrace your individuality and expressiveness as you explore modern techniques rooted in the Limon and Graham traditions, alongside creative movement vocabulary. 


Prerequisite: This class is designed to prepare students for college or university-level material while fostering professionalism. Registration in ballet (twice per week) or permission of the instructor is required.

UNIFORM & MATERIALS

Bodywear: Leotard or tank with snug-fitting black shorts (Capezio TB113C/TB113)

Tights: Tights are optional. If transitioning from ballet class, please wear transition tights.

Footwear: Barefoot is appropriate. Nude foot undies are allowed, but not mandatory.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Vienna Johnson

Vienna Johnson is a Métis multidisciplinary artist, dancer, singer-songwriter, musician, actor, and creator based in Hamilton. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Performance Dance Program, she is trained in a wide range of dance styles and is passionate about storytelling, choreography, and inspiring emerging artists through teaching.

Additional fees vary by program and participation. Any applicable registration, costume, examination, or materials fees are listed below.

Registration Fee (Single Student): $30

Registration Fee (Family): $50

Costume Fee: TBC (for students participating in the year-end recital)
