CLASS DESCRIPTION

Teen Acting II

Teen Acting II helps the emerging actor develop their instincts into technique. Building on the skills introduced in Teen Acting I, this class challenges students to go deeper into text and character, and into the collaborative work of making theatre with other people. Students begin working with published scripts, developing the tools to break down a scene, understand what a character wants, and make bold, specific choices on stage.

Students in Teen Acting II work on scenes and monologues from published plays alongside devised and improvised work, building toward a end-of-year performance.

TERM ONE: Working with Voice & Text: Reading a Scene, Finding the Life Underneath
TERM TWO: Scene Study & Ensemble Creation
TERM THREE: Set the Stage — Rehearsal & HCA Theatre School Spring Studio Performance Series

TAKE THE STAGE! This program culminates in a public sharing in June in the HCA Black Box Theatre.

PRE-REQUISITE: Completion of Teen Acting I or instructor’s recommendation.
