CLASS DESCRIPTION

Teen Acting III

Teen Acting III is an empowering class that urges young actors to embrace risks, bold choices, and develop confidence in their creative voices. Tailored for students with prior acting experience, a dedication to the form, and aiming to elevate their skills, this program focuses on text analysis, movement, improv, and collaborative creation within a professional and nurturing setting. Participate in various performances, including a winter collective creation project and a final production at the HCA Black Box Theatre.

Students in Teen Acting III work on scenes and monologues from published plays and workshop new Canadian theatre pieces over the course of the year.

PRE-REQUISITE: Completion of Teen Acting II or instructor’s recommendation.

TERM ONE: Theatre Craft, Voice & Text, Text Study
TERM TWO: Collective Creation & Professional Development
TERM THREE: Set the Stage: Rehearsal and HCA Theatre School Spring Studio Performance Series

TAKE THE STAGE! This program culminates in an invited presentation in June in the HCA Black Box Theatre.

PLEASE NOTE: This program will require attendance at dress rehearsals and performances in May and June (dates TBA).

Stephanie Hope Lawlor

Stephanie Hope Lawlor is an award-nominated actor, director, program creator, and teaching artist with over two decades of professional experience. A leader in Hamilton’s theatre community, she is passionate about developing emerging artists and creating inclusive, supportive spaces where students can build confidence, explore their craft, and grow.

Registration Fee (Single Student): $30

Registration Fee (Family): $50

Production Fee: $70 in Term Three. This fee covers all rehearsal-related expenses, including printing, technicians, small props, and other production needs.
