Heather began her professional ballet training at Canada's National Ballet School, where she studied for five years. After graduating from NBS, she moved to England to continue her dance education at the English National Ballet School, where she received a Trinity National Diploma in professional dance and was also given the opportunity to dance with The English National Ballet. After completing her training, Heather started her professional career with the Scottish Ballet. During the first years of her career, she also danced with the Tivoli Ballet Theatre in Copenhagen and the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and performed in several international galas around the world. She then spent the rest of her career with The Royal Danish Ballet, where she stayed for over five years dancing soloist roles. In 2020, Heather decided to hang up her pointe shoes and move back to Canada, where she joined the faculty at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts. She has had the honour of teaching students of all abilities and ages, and it has been a real privilege for her to share and pass on her extensive knowledge and joy of dance to others. She continually looks forward to inspiring many to follow their dreams in dance and fall in love with the art form, as she did.
